Stranded in the kings pond
Category: Outdoor Scenes
Photo and caption by ronen hartfeld
Walking to Wainanalii Pond one early morning I ran into this majestic creature in distress.Stuck behind lava rocks in low tide with it's head and shell drying I had to act quick. Knowing that human touch may cause potential harm by removing essential biofilms that help keep infection out I decided to remove the obstructing lava rocks rather than try and lift the vulnerable creature. I moved the rocks and began splashing water to wake the poor turtle. Within a few minutes the green turtle was revived and on it's way to deep water.
Location: Wainanalii Pond, Kiholo bay, Hawaii
