- The "White City" was created by Israeli sculptor Danny Karavan. It symbolizes the creation of the white city of Tel Aviv on white sand dunes. Image was taken from the top of the tower, which is a part of the monument.

- On a recent safari in the Serengeti of Tanzania, I captured this image of an infant wildebeest keeping up with its mother. These remarkable animals can run at the same speed of the adults within 45 minutes of their birth. Finding ourselves in the middle of thousands of these animals migrating across the vast Serengeti was one of the most moving experiences of my life.

- Both species of caiman that live in Argentina were at the edge of extinction by the end of the 20th century. Thanks to poaching controls, and successful conservation management programs, like the farming and re-stocking programs found in the provinces of Santa Fe, Corrientes, Chaco and Formosa, both populations of reptiles have recovered. (this photo is not photoshop, nor cropped. Only small adjustments were done in Lightroom)

- Loud rumbles of thunder echoed off the cliffs, and cold raindrops started to lightly fall as we made our way down through the Alaskan Highlands. As our party rounded a bend in the trail, this old, abandoned miner's shack came into view and would be our sanctuary from the approaching Alaska storm. It was the only dwelling as far as the eye could see, and makes one wonder the kind of extreme isolation one would have to endure living here. Needless to say, the lonely shack nestled in the lush green highlands, and the storm crawling over the peaks made for an intense panoramic shot.

- This photograph was taken coming out of an ice cave on the Franz Josef Glacier (April 2011), showing the complexities of the structures within glacier ice. I was struck by the blueness of the ice and the smooth hollows. For me it is important to study glaciers to understand how they react to climatic change, as these landforms may soon become a thing of the past and the uniquely beautiful features such as the one in this image will be lost with them.

- I Captured this photograph while walking through the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park of California. I came across these desert palm trees blowing in the wind. Because of the wind, the colors of the area after sunset became bright orange. I remember holding down on my tripod to keep it steady!!! Nikon D5000, 12-24mm Nikkor lense, B+W Polarizer.

- A lone sailing stone sits forlornly immobile beneath the swirling stars on the Racetrack Playa in Death Valley National Park. No one is 100% sure what causes the stones to move across the playa, however when you visit them you can see the tracks they left during their most recent jaunt across the cracked ephemeral lakebed. The playa is an incredibly beautiful place to visit at night, with dark skies and an air of mystery.

After a few pictures, however, I soon realized I was not alone. Thousand of mosquitos swarmed above my head, waiting for the right time to attack.
