- The holy Kawa Karpo (6740M), the highest peak of Meili snow mountains, is one of the most sacred mountains of Tibetan Buddhism. It’s really hard to see the peak clearly. I stayed there for 3 days and finally got this photo in the last early morning. This panorama was stitched by 2 photos shot around the same time.

- Driving on a hidden back road, my eye was suddenly captured by this sudden burst of colors in the middle of nowhere. I immediately spun my car around and parked it in the middle of the road to take this photo -from my car window. This image captures the prosperity people have living in Aruba; a safe home to live, creating a large family and the vibrant colors symbolize their happy island life.

- A sneak peek into a pre-wedding photo shoot at Pyrgos, the village with 33 churches. The bride climbed up in all her finery to a precarious vantage point, the sun was shining brilliantly, but the bride, her groom and the photographer remained ebullient :-)

- We were travelling from Calgary Alberta Canada to St Lucia B.V.I. for a winter vacation and a volcano blew right as we were flying by the island of Montserrat. It was spectacular to see. I got really lucky with very clear shot of smoke and ash.

- While driving on Bear Lake Road in Rocky Mountain National Park in April 2011, my friend and I rounded a curve in the road and came upon a herd of elk grazing on grass in a clearing off the road. Snow was coming down in thick flakes and we could barely see, but I rolled down the passenger's side window and took a snapshot of the elk herd, in awe at the sheer size of the animals. The picture resembles a pastoral scene created with oil or pastel by some of the great artists of years past.

- The U Bein Bridge is said to be the longest teak bridge in the world at 1.2km, or three quarter of a mile. Built in 1849 with materials salvaged from old houses, the bridge has over 1,000 posts. It remains heavily utilised by villagers, especially at dawn and dusk.

- Snow Monsters of Zao Onsen, Japan 2011
- field_caption
- People said this was the best day of the year so far to take pictures of the famous "snow monsters" at the Zao Onsen Resort in Northern Japan. The trees get completely caked with snow and ice. This was five weeks before the Japanese earthquake and I now realize that it is just north of Fukushima and just west of Sendai. What an awesome day of snowboarding and then relaxing in the onsens (natural hot springs) afterwards. I hope I'll be able to go back one day.
