- A new cyclone named "Jal" hit Chennai in November 2010 due to which normal life in Chennai and other parts of Tamilnadu got affected. I went to the marina beach to get some shots. I was really surprised by the heavy fog in the beach. I was unable to see anything more than 10 feet from me. You can see that in the above photo. Another surprise was that the beach was not short of people. Although i couldn't find the usual Sunday crowd, it was a considerable crowd. The climate was really awesome too

- This picture was taken at Lake Oberssee (near Lake Konigssee) in Germany. What appealed to me was the stillness of the water and its pristine untouched beauty. The water was so clear that it was unbelievable and I was even afraid to touch it so as to not disturb the peace. The water itself with the reflections almost looked like glass from one edge to another. This is one sight I will never forget in my life!

- I took this shot in July 2010, only few weeks after Eyjafjallajökull volcano eruptions started. Although the volcano is in visible distance, nature around Skógafoss looked almost recovered. Very long days are another amazing thing about traveling Iceland during summer - it was almost midnight at the time of this capture when most of the people left the spot already and it still felt like a daytime.

- Central California is home to the richest agricultural valley in the world. In the Spring, amazing beauty explodes within orchards of peach, plum, nectarines, and numerous other fruit-bearing trees. A sudden unwanted storm leaving standing water provided just the right opportunity for reflection both of the trees and the wordless beauty of the moment.

- Not only we were blessed to see a leopard on our trip, we got to see one in a tree. While most focused on closeups (myself included), i took a moment to really appreciate how the Leopard lives, and how high it goes to ensure safety and location for eating. While right in front of us, the Leopard was almost hidden.

- As descending from the top of this small Tuscany village called Motepulciano I came across a small restaurant with these lovely tables placed outside, right on the sidewalk. My luck was that one of these tables was empty. I took out my camera and took the shot!

- While visiting a friend here, I had checked out this spot the previous night. It is right next to where a large local community of fishermen live and there were a lot of boats pulled up to the beach at night. The plan was to shoot the rows of boats early morning. But by the time I got here at 5 am, they were all mostly gone. This shot was more or less an accident because without the person, it seemed empty and after I asked my friend to pose, I did not know what pose to use. Then in between shots she put her hand through her hair and I told her to hold it. I used 3 filters to get this one.

- This image was taken in winter time in a arid area of the Canadian Rockies. Temperatures where below -30 degrees Celsius yet because there was no snow fall the surface of the lake was uncovered allowing me to see and capture the bubbles (gas release from lake bed) that were trapped in the frozen waters.

- We were rushing to catch the early morning flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu. I noticed the very soft morning light over the lake, stopped the taxi, grabbed the camera and ran down the stairs to the lake. I used the flash to illuminate the dark foreground and happily snapped a handful of photos of the very peaceful morning scene. We continued rushing to the airport only to learn that our flight was delayed until further notice due to fog in Kathmandu. The photo was taken with a fish eye and I was literally only inches away from the boat. The fish eye distortion was corrected in Lightroom.

- A local boy was cycling along the pier in Puerto Ayora at night. A Galapagos Brown pelican was resting on the railing, under a lamppost, and I could see that the boy was heading for it; I just had enough time to set up my camera before the boy reached the pelican and it took off into the darkness.

- 2x World bodyboard champ Ben Player pulls into the barrel at Pipeline, on Oahu's North Shore. Having been coming to Hawaii for the past 16 years, he claimed this day (5th Feb, 2011) was some of the best waves he's ever seen at the Banzai Pipeline. If you look closely you can see the crack in the reef on the far left hand side of the frame. It is a treacherous wave, with the reef only inches beneath the water, with many cracks and caves. This part of Hawaii is all about respect. Respecting the locals, respecting the waves.

- I have been a cave diver since 1997, and i`ve always been amazed by the natural beauty and uniqueness that you can find in the Cenotes of the Yucatan Peninsula, México. They are spectacular in many ways, some of them very obvious like the enormous stalactites and stalagmites, crystal clear water and the mystery and history mixed in the middle of the jungle. But there is also a more subtle beauty in them, hide in their unique colors and details that are not easily spotted by diving or snorkeling in them. So that is my goal, to capture the fantastic details hidden in this natural wonders...
