- Different from other firework festivals in Japan, they usually run in Summer, the Nagano EBISUKOU Firework festival, which already has 105 years history, holds in late-Autumn every year. I didn't expect how great a firework event in a countryside would be at beginning, however, it turns out to be one of the greatest and the most shocking fireworks I've ever seen.

- In the heart of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, there are hidden treasures beneath the feet of those who travel there. The locals call them "Cenotes" which are fresh water river systems that run throughout the area. These are remnants of a wild and tumultuous geological past that remind us of nature's power. Caves, underground rivers and incredible beauty adorn the region and offer spectacular swimming experiences for the adventurous traveler. The shear size of these subterranean meccas astounds you from the first moment you enter.

- Shot on a side street in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, this image captures a different side of the city. KL is rich in its diverse culture and cuisine, and for me this photograph reflects its colourful energy.

- Slow winter afternoon in Helsinki. Sea water has turned to ice, and snow blankets the whole city. This image is taken on the shoreline, a few kilometers from the city centre. (Captured with a Nikon D700 with a 180 mm lens, exposure at 1/200, f/8, ISO 800)

- Pullikali artists take to the road before their performance on a wet monsoon evening on 26th August 2010 at Thrissur, Kerala.PuliKali is a colorful recreational folk art from the state of Kerala. It is performed by trained artists to entertain people on the occasion of Onam, an annual harvest festival, celebrated mainly in the Indian state of Kerala. Literal meaning of Pulikali is the 'play of the tigers' hence the performance revolve around the theme of tiger hunting.

- Rainy day on my trip to Kyoto. I saved this shrine for the very last. The Inari Shrine is located in the outskirt of Kyoto. Its a dedication to the Shinto gods. Going alone through its thousands of gates I felt in awe - transported to the realm of the gods-.

- In a country where about a quarter of the 80 million population travel by motorcycle, I thought capturing a slice of Vietnam from a motorcycle rear view mirror would give a different perspective.

- There is nothing like being out on the water at day break, when the water is like glass and nature surrounds you. The bull rays are running and the dolphins are feeding then there is just me and my dog, gliding along the surface. This is one of the most captivating places on Earth and truly deserving of its name, the Emerald Coast.

- This visual conundrum is actually a Panoramic photo shot taken inside a tour bus of the Partagas cigar factory in Havana Cuba. I love the way the shot plays with space and how the entire dimensionality of the space is contained in such a compressed moment.

- This is Isola del Lazzaretto Vecchio, off the island Lido in Venice. It was first inhibited in 1249, later used as a hospital for quarantined plague patients. Like many structures in Venice, the building is constructed on top of shallow lagoon. So, the building itself IS the island, surrounded by the ocean. It is particularly tranquil and surreal when shrouded in the morning mist.

- The Chugach mountains were larger than my wildest dreams of how vast they would be, and I found them filled with undulating peaks and glaciers stretching far beyond the horizon. It was difficult to fathom the sense of place of mankind in the midst of such enormity and grandeur.

- Hassid girl in the wedding costume, captured at the street of Mea Sharim, ultra-orthodox district of Jerusalem during Purim feast. Marriages within Hassid society, in majority, are still arranged by families and concern relatively very young people - from their 18 to early 20 - who, in the beginning, are practically, total strangers.
