- One year of hopes,no more than ninety seconds to make the dream come true. Ten jockeys, dressed in the representative colours of their “contrada”,riding bareback magnificient horses while citizens on the bleachers scream for pride, circle three times Piazza del Campo to win the "Palio". A whirlwind of feelings, colours and flags play this magic atmosphere wherein people crowded in the square can only use their arms as telescopes to see the horses ride by their camera shot. I panned the camera with the moving horses and jockeys so that they remain sharp. Because in those seconds they are all.

- Ghent. January 1, 2011. Early morning and drizzling. My brother and I went walking around the deserted city. He is a professional photographer. I am a retired psychiatrist. He had his Canon 5D hanging on his side. He was walking in front of me. I had a puny Canon PowerShot. To me he looked like a hunter after his prey. Julio objects to be called a hunter of images. Actually, the title is a reference to McCullers' book. My son, also a professional photographer, calls this image "Holden Caulfield, grown up and roaming Europe" or "Ripley posing as a photographer."

- I recently took a photo trek to the Angkor complex in Siem Reap, Cambodia. In the country of over a thousand temples, there is always something to see or take pictures of. This is taken inside the Angkor Thom complex looking through the south gate. Our guide explained that the temples were built using thousands of elephants so I thought it was appropriate to still see elephants there today.
