  I waited inside a structure near the exit of Machu Picchu, hoping this little guy would peek inside as he searched for a place to graze. Fortunately, after lingering just outside of the doorway, he came in and I was able to capture this spontaneous moment. The main buildings and garden area of Machu Picchu are visible behind the llama.

  Somewhere to be? I hope not, because around 5 o’clock last night there was a seemingly audacious conflict of interest, when a flock of sheep tromped head to head with two moving vehicles. Luckily, the drivers decided to exercise some patience when they realized they were simply outnumbered. To my amiable surprise, no horns were used, no caterwauling necessary, even though some sheep were found dawdling amongst the shrubs. Congratulations to the drivers for practicing restraint and keeping things “mirë,” or good.

  I shot this while swimming around in the shorebreak making the most of my final days in hawaii. The swell was only tiny but with the waves bouncing off the sand berm and hitting the incoming waves it was creating this to happen.

  Bali off the beaten track – does an unspoiled and untouched Bali still exists? Every year more than 4 million tourists hit the small island (100 x 50 miles) that can’t provide an organized waste management nor an internal power supply. Don’t forget the unmanageable number of international dropouts searching for an easy life here. The hype on touristic topspots can easily match with the hustle and bustle of any big western city. The quiet and contemplative places must be searched very well.
