- A performance artist dresses up as a walking life like sculpture. Throughout China you will often see large life like black clay and stone sculptures of Chinese people in traditional chinese dress. It’s a reminder of the days gone by. I caught this performance troupe casually walking through the crowds during one of the many Spring Festival street celebrations held every year at Chinese New Years in Beijing, China. (Lao Beijing means “Old Beijing”)

- I've always enjoyed capturing photos of fire. I love how every instance of flame is unique. While in Barbados, I was fortunate to snap this image of a fire breather during a local performance.

- Recently I traveled to Pakistan to volunteer and photograph some projects going on there with the Salvation Army. During a Sunday morning church service I spotted this young girl and was struck by the beauty in her eyes. She was very kind and welcomed us with flower wreaths.

- with too few teachers to fill too many positions, the class sizes are growing and the classroom age gap is closing. the majority of children in india are stuck in a public school system that is preventing them from reaching their full potential. non-governmental organizations and individuals funding charter schools are cut off from any support from the government yet are still expected to follow its rules. the children are eager and the teachers are dedicated, but the government is indifferent to the point of negligence.

- Walking along the road beneath the empty niches that are all that remain of the famous Bamiyan Buddhas, which were destroyed by the Taliban, I met this girl playing in the autumn leaves. Following a short conversation I asked to take her photo, to which she readily agreed. After looking curiously at her own image captured on-screen, she walked with me for a while before finally falling behind and returning home. I was caught by her cropped hair and the directness and concurrent distance of her expression.

- After hiking up a long, craggy path, through the most stunning forest I have ever seen, we arrived at Kila Goemba. The Anims (nuns) served us tea and we sat for a leisurely chat. They had just had a visit from the travelling doctor as well as a beauty day with the clippers.

- I traveled to new york for the first time and saw this police sitting near a wall on the grand central station. He had this unique aura to him and asked politely to shoot a photo of him. He smiled and said yes but then asked me "what was this for?" I just answered "My future travel book!"
