- This was during the Chingay Parade in Singapore celebrating the Chinese New Year 2011. It was a moment during the parade where these people on stilts in metallic costumes with flamers came by. I loved the contrast between the person and the red smoke created by the flames.

- This old fisherman is so peaceful in his appearance. The elements of the nature are rough, but he feels home in this landscape. He doesn`t demand more of life...

- My sons and I went to San Diego for Spring Break. I captured this moment at La Jolla Beach while my youngest son, Michael, was running away from the waves. He had a sand bucket in one hand and his sandals on the other one. It was such a happy moment for my little guy.

- Oracle Natpwe 'Spirit Dancing'
- field_caption
- Though a very religious Buddhist country, Myanmar is superstitious as well. And there is no better place to witness the superstitious end of the spectrum than at a Spirit (or Nat) Festival. Here, nats (men dressed as women) dance themselves into a whirling frenzy to eardrum popping music to put themselves into a trance and channel the Spirit for paying patrons, those who believe these nat mediums can communicate with the Spirit in order to see into the future like fortune tellers. I and my group of 3, who were treated to front row seats, were the only outside- the-village attendees.

- When I was on vacation in Barcelona, Spain, I walked to Park Guell, Antonio Gaudi's modernistic park which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Having taken a very long walk to get there, I thought I'd rest for awhile. Looking for a bench to sit, I saw this beautiful couple who had the same idea. I couldn't resist photographing them. Interestingly, we spoke later and this local couple visit the park regularly on their wedding anniversary. The fun of travel is always the beautiful people and sights you see along the way!

- While traveling through the Golden Triangle in Northern Thailand I was fascinated by the bond between the mahouts and asian elephants. I was watching one morning as this mahout was working with a juvenile elephant and when he sat on the ground and looked up I could sense the connection and took this shot beautifully backlit with the sun coming through the bamboo.

- I took this photo on my honeymoon with my husband to the Serengeti, North Tanzania. We visited a local Masai village near our camp at Nduara Loliondo Safari Camp. He invited us into his home, and introduced us to his wife and spoke of the way of life for him and his family. I shot this with no flash, only ambient light, ISO 6400, F2.8 @ 1/15 sec. Shot with Nikon D700, lens - Nikon ED 28-70 mm 1:2.8
